I know some don't appreciate it but here's the history. Nagasaki was too cloudy to bomb and was missed over a mile but with a more powerful bomb. If the Japanese did not give then . Nimitz, Macarthur, had a plan for invasion. This included over a million assault troops and "20" atomic bomb attacks.

A pretty cowardly act. I'd always thought that if a bomb was dropped on the japanese imperial navy, or even on an offshore island the war would've ended just the same. But I guess this way the US got to test their new toy for what it was designed. |
