Viagra To Be Used For Children
Viagra to be used for children Saturday, May 07, 2011 » 05:41pm The European commission has approved treating children Viagra for a rare, deadly lung condition. The drug, Revatio, was approved in Europe to treat adults with high blood pressure in lung arteries and can now be given to children aged 1 to 17. Viagra, the erectile dysfunction drug became a blockbuster for New York-based drug company Pfizer in 1998. A recent study in children found the formulation in Viagra reduced blood pressure in lung arteries and helped them breathe and function better. Pfizer is now seeking approval in numerous countries for treating children with pulmonary arterial hypertension. |

Re: Viagra To Be Used For Children
What I was thinking: Viagra makes a hard penis, a hard penis is caused by high blood pressure in the penis (i thought) How would a drug that increases penis blood pressure, reduce lung blood pressure!? It sounds recockulous to me, but hey, if it works, then it works!

Re: Viagra To Be Used For Children
Apparently it does work! I don't know what other organs it effects but I am pretty sure there aren't kids walking around with erections!!! I presume that these kids must be pretty sick, you kinda need your lungs, and like you said if it works, then it works. |

Re: Viagra To Be Used For Children
Actually it increases blood flow to the penis by widening the arteries (and causing reduced blood pressure). This medication (a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor) was originally developed to treat High blood pressure... Since many sufferers of high blood pressure and diabetes also have Erectile Dysfunction the beneficial "side-effects" of Viagra were uncovered quickly. It was then marketed to all sufferers of ED. As a high blood pressure medicine it is iffy compared to others on the market. In terms of this use (Pulmonary Hypertension or high blood pressure in the arteries leading from the heart to the lungs) PDE-5 inhibitors, like Viagra, are starting to be used more often for all ages with the condition. |
