The 11-year-old stepson of star Usher has reportedly been declared brain dead following a jet ski accident over the weekend.

According to website TMZ, Kyle Glover, who is the son of the singer's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to hospital on Saturday.

Kyle and a friend were reportedly floating in inner tubes while being pulled by a boat on Lake Lanier in Atlanta when they were hit by a man on a jet ski.

They were both airlifted to hospital.

Kyle was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water, while his friend, a 15-year-old girl, was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.

Both Usher and his ex-wife were present at the hospital.



The couple married in 2007, but divorced acrimoniously two years later.

They have two children together, Usher Raymond V, aged four, and three-year-old Naviyd.

Celebrity friends of the OMG singer have tweeted their support.

Toni Braxton wrote: "My heart and prayers go out to @TamekaRaymond & @usherRaymondIV during this extremely difficult time."

The Department of Natural Resource in Atlanta is investigating the accident.

It plans to recreate what happened on the lake using special computer programmes to work out how fast the boat and the jet ski were going at the time of the accident.
