That's Filthydelphia to you, (and me), invertigo!

I have an idea it was a member of DR trying to re-enact that horrendous attack in the Ukraine several years ago.

Shit! I like to carry a fanny pack at night.

Action News

WEST PHILADELPHIA - February 26, 2014 (WPVI) -- The suspect who allegedly attacked a man with a hammer in West Philadelphia is being held on $1 million bail.

Nathanial Maybin, 29, of the 800 block of S. 56th Street surrendered to Southwest Detectives on Tuesday.

He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery and related offenses. His bail was set at $1 million following his arraignment Tuesday night.

Police say robbery was the motive.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday, February 20th, outside the Maple Deli at 49th and Lancaster.

A local business owner, 46 year old David Woods, was the victim of the attack.

According to investigators, Woods had gone inside the deli to use an ATM. When he came out, Maybin allegedly ran up with a hammer and attacked.

Woods' employee, Bernard Williams, who was inside their work truck and heard the commotion, grabbed a bar from the truck and chased the suspect for about two blocks before losing him.

Williams then went back to Woods and, finding him bleeding and unconscious, drove him to the hospital.

The Gloucester City man is still recovering from his injuries. Police said Woods will likely have to go through intensive speech therapy before he can talk again.

Woods has been working in Philadelphia for decades. He's the owner of Day or Night Door Service, which installs protective steel doors on businesses.
