Re: *UPDATE* Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead in Manhattan Apartment
The news was mean describing him as a pudgy, lumpy person, which even if he was, they could have said, "Perhaps not your typical leading man looks," but, beauty is in eye of the beholder. I never saw any of is work, only commercials. It's said he left three young children I always thought he was gay, but, I guess he was doing promos for a movie at the time. NOT meant as an insult to the man, for the phobes! I have no issues with gay people. I was ignorant about his personal life. |

Re: *UPDATE* Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead in Manhattan Apartment
That is what was blamed for Jim Morrison's death, as well. There was a man who looked over him and wasn't there in Paris the night he died. He believes, had Jim not done it, perhaps he would still be alive. Apparently, he was drinking a lot and very sick the night he did die. Who knows? I believe, when your number is up, it's up. We've crashes where no one should probably have lived and they did, and vice versa. |

Re: *UPDATE* Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead in Manhattan Apartment
Inside Philip Seymour Hoffman's Last Hours By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff February 3, 2014 (NEWSER) – The night before Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York City apartment, he had dinner at a West Village restaurant with two other men around 7 pm, opting for cranberry soda instead of alcohol, a manager tells E! But, an hour later, was he buying drugs? A witness told police he thinks he saw Hoffman, looking, "very sweaty", withdrawing a lot of cash from an ATM near his West Village apartment around 8 pm, then handing it to two men wearing messenger bags in apparent exchange for drugs. Investigators are looking for surveillance video to verify the account, Fox News reports. A neighbor of Hoffman's says he saw the actor earlier Saturday looking, "grey," and, "not well," buying tissues and soda at a grocery store. The next day, he was supposed to pick up his kids from their mom, Mimi O'Donnell, from whom the New York Daily News says he was, "estranged," but he never showed; they were reportedly at a nearby playground yesterday morning when O'Donnell asked someone who worked with Hoffman, (reportedly screenwriter David Katz), to check on him. It was a grim scene when police found Hoffman's body on his bathroom floor. He was wearing a T-shirt and shorts and there was a hypodermic needle in his left arm, the Daily Beast reports. At least five empty heroin envelopes were in the trash, two full ones were nearby, and sources tell the New York Post there was a charred spoon in the kitchen sink. Hoffman went to rehab for snorting heroin in May of last year, and a source claims to Radar that he was spending $10,000 a month these days on heroin and Oxycontin. Fox News' sources and other reports say police are investigating whether the heroin is linked to a tainted batch that has killed hundreds; the Raw Story notes that the lethal heroin just recently hit the East Coast. Says another neighbor of Hoffman, "He did not look well recently—like he was out of it. I think him and his woman friend were off and on." |
