Well the note said they do not agree with their lifestye, I would say abusing drugs is a lifestyle, but then we would argue over what makes a gay person gay. I do understand your point though.

I don't think homophobia is going to be much of an issue 50 or 60 years from now. Society has already come so far in the last 30 years. As unpleasant as stories of this nature are,. I think it's best have a little patience with people like her. With any luck she'll come to realize how irrational and archaic homophobia actually is, if not, she's going to have some very embarrassed grand kids down the line. I already see that everywhere in my peer group.
But bringing that bullshit up on a child's birthday party invitation is way out of line. What kind of adult starts that shit storm around a bunch of 7 year olds?

The big deal is that a lot of these bigots keep insisting they have the right to force others to conform their lives to fit their religious beliefs- Angry gay people aren't writing legislation to ban heterosexual marriage or creating sneaky laws to keep straight couples from adopting children like Texas did to their gay counterparts;

Provide relative and non-relative references

Agree to a home study which includes visits with all household members
Allow staff to complete a criminal history background check and an abuse/neglect check on all adults in the household
Attend free training to learn about issues of abused and neglected children

Texas does not recognize same sex marriages, thus making adoption impossible for any gay couple.

You might give a hoot about queers and their 'lifestyles', but there are people in positions of power and influence that do. And some would like nothing more than to eradicate homosexuality entirely.

I get what you're saying. All the idiots trying to ban all that shit just need to live and let live. In reference to to this article though, I don't see the harm in a parent not letting their child go to someone else's house that goes against their own beliefs.
