Wife of Mugshot Heartthrob Upset Over Attention

The wife of handsome felon, Jeremy Meeks, is reportedly fed up by the internet’s continuing obsession with his mugshot, according to a friend.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t see her at all in the cameras, because she’s upset,” said friend, Simone Johnson, for CBS Sacramento. “She’s furious. Her man is in there and people are taking it as a joke, thinking it’s funny talking about his looks, saying all kinds of crazy things.”

Meeks was charged with gang membership, firearm possession and a probation violation, reports CBS. He has already spent two years in prison for grand theft in 2002.

Despite his stunning good looks, Meeks’ bail was raised to $1 million, says CBS. His arraignment continues June 27th.

It’s understood in prison that many are looking for their next, “hustle.” They swap notes with fellow inmates to come up with a better plan for making money on the streets than the one that landed them behind bars in the first place.

For some, that hustle means turning away from crime. For others, that means trying to return to crime and not get caught. For Jeremy Meeks, criminal-turned-social media flavor of the month, his new hustle may the easiest one yet, according to a story in The Daily Mail.

Meeks could make up to $30,000 a month as a high-end fashion model – if he gets out of prison any time soon, the Mail reported.

Meeks, 30, was booked on weapons and gang charges. Stockton, Calif. Police posted his mug shot to its Facebook page where it went viral, collecting nearly 100,000, “likes.” Comments praised his strong features, gangland tattoos, and striking blue eyes.

Now he is being eyed by modeling agencies including Blaze Modelz for his ‘hot gangster’ look, according to TMZ.

“The agency told the celebrity website that they could book Meeks for runway jobs and campaigns with exclusive designers such as Versace and Armani and he could earn between $15,000 and $30,000 a month,” the Mail reported.

The agency thinks the revealing teardrop is edgy and sexy, according to TMZ, which claims a rival agency that didn’t want to give its name is also pursuing Meeks.

Meeks is currently being held on $900,000 bail and is facing nearly a dozen felonies.

Meeks’ spouse and the mother of his 3 year old son is upset by all the attention.

“She’s furious,” Meeks’ friend Simone Johnson told local news affiliates. “Her man is in there and people are taking it as a joke, thinking it’s funny talking about his looks, saying all kinds of crazy things.”
