Not really. Russian separatists are blowing up airliners, which is worse than the Ukes using conventially-armed SS-21 Scarab missiles that are just fatter and longer-ranged than the M270A1 MLRS or BM-30 Smerch MLRS. It wouldn't surprise me if Mad Vlad accidentally "misplaces" several BM-30 units that inexplicably wind up west of the Ukraine/Russia border.

Either way, I sure as hell hope you and yours are outside the combat zone. I honestly used to be a proponent of Mad Vlad, but now I just pray all this bullshit will stop.

In the early '80s, I used to wake crying at the thought of nuclear war with the Soviet Union. I've grown-up and grown-used-to-being at peace with the Russians. They're a strong tribe that I hope the US never has to fight for any reason. The Chinese seem very-ready to sue for peace. I can only hope the same resolve carries over to US/Russian relations. :S

Same here my friend; I grew up under Ceausescu in Romania, so I know all too well what its like being under the Soviet "umbrella". I hope that nobody is foolish enough to do the unthinkable. What would be the point of it? Whoever does it would have "conquered" a corpse of a country. I can see another Russia-Georgia type scenario here. I feel so sorry for the ordinary folk caught up in the mayhem, its heartbreaking. I also used to champion Vlad, right up to almost present day, but the more I think about it, the more I am inclined to think that he's not as white as I thought he was. You cant just go and take someone elses country, the way he took Crimea. Of course I kind of understand it, hes making sure that they dont lose their warm water naval base, the entrance to the Mediterranean, but its not okay to just march in and steal something like that. Shades of Adolf?

I'm sorry for your tribulations. I had the good fortune to grow up as Czech-in-America. I know I'm deluding myself, but I typically posit my heritage as "good guns and good porn". I don't know what they put in the water over there, but it seems that Czechoslovakia is the #1-source-in-the-Universe for sable-haired, blue-eyed women that will go "airtight"*. LOL (*Not that that is a requirement for me, but it does pre-answer a lot of uncomfortable questions. )

And, by American standards, I've adapted well. I'm a bit overweight and I love my guns. (But to be honest, I could/should blame my female-predilections upon my heritage. :D )
