Probably. The "Aids HQ", the poor countries of Africa, couldn't afford it. However, those are the origin of, and the most highly affected by, HIV/Aids. Treating the isolated cases as they come in, is a good start, but a large scale war on Aids would have to be launched. However, it would frustrate the pharmaceutics giants too much to have a clientel millions strong, yet too poor to pay. Nevermind that a pro-bono initiative that huge would be great PR for the company and its nation, there is no ka-ching. Certain political movements also would not stand for it. If they don't "spread Aids", there will be one less "valid" reason to hate on homosexuals. But I still hope that human selfishness wil help them see the priorities right. No money in the world will save you if you have Aids and no cure. One day, that big pharma tycoon's child could get infected, and then, I hope, they/we will realize that some things should be shared regardless of financial gain, as whoever is dead or dying, is also utterly useless to anyone. |

What I find outrageous though, is how doctors seem to refuse this treatment because of the risk and cost involved. Leave that decision to the patient. I was recently turned down for correcting some real problems I was willing to spend 5x the market price on. The fuck, it's my problem and if I can pay for it and accept the risks, fucking treat me... "Doctor"...
