They probably thought that as long as the refrigeration unit wasn't running, it would be fine. I think I'd have gone for that unit as a potential weak spot, and try to knock it back through the wall. Hard to do at a height and with no light or air though.

Hopefully they lost consciousness soon, but they all realized what was going on, i'm afraid: five people for each square metre...

That's insane, there was not even room to move, probably it was hard to breath from minute#1 of the trip, they had more or less oxygen for one hour, so they hardly could try to do anything but wait for death to come asap... It's possible that some of them died of compressive asphyxia, especially those poor children

My husband and I were just looking at the pictures and you can see the body fluid on the door outlined at an angle of the one person's leg that was crammed up against the door. I cannot imagine how horrible it must have been to be inside that truck; or that you would risk doing that because your country is so horrible
