The US have been backing the rebels who started fighting Assad. The whole "democracy" movement in the Middle East was ignited by the United States of America.

there is way more chaos, violence and destruction in major American cities than there was in Syria before the United States ignited the "democracy" movement. and if I'm not mistaken all the black and hispanic gangs there are not from a Muslim background.
