Re: TEXAS CHURCH WOULD BE MASSACRE

okay...let's simmer down. The guy who shot the shooter was hired for security. Texas is open carry...you'd think more people would've fired on him.

Re: TEXAS CHURCH WOULD BE MASSACRE

It was her father who got shot & killed. I think she's screaming "Daddy, no"
That's what I heard. I went back a few times before finishing the video and I was thinking man... she's just jumped up and made herself a target with that hysterics. It even looks like the gunman starts to fling towards her a bit, IMO.

Then I let the video play. Got misty-eyed when I realized WHY she was hysteric, she was screaming for her Dad getting shot in the head. (At least, the way he went down the first guy who goes to draw makes me think headshot.)

On a real note: If ya'll are CCWers, PLEASE work on drawing, popping the safety ASAP and pulling. You are probably carrying "just in case", unless you just want to brag about your dick size. Slow drawing - especially after the gun is already aimed by the gunman - is just throwing up a red arrow. Even more so if your holster has buttons, snaps or velcro.

My CC is a dainty little blower upper. I kept it small and light (tiny hands) precisely so the entire motion of drawing, flipping safety and pulling are easy to do and can be done with one motion and is held by grip, no clasps.

Too many people taking target practice but missing all the steps that come between.

Re: TEXAS CHURCH WOULD BE MASSACRE

the perp wouldn't have been armed either, if this country wasn't awash in firearms.
He was a convicted felon with a black market gun. In fact, almost EVERY mass shooting people love to trot out for that crap argument has been done by illegal ownership/possession and most often it's guns coming in, not happy honky dory people just offloading their guns to felons for fun.

He wasn't "hired". It was volunteer armed parishioners who formed their own "security team" to handle stuff like this once the law passed September 1st (prior to September 1st, it was illegal to carry in places of worship). The most "security" this got was they spread themselves around.

Randomly making shit up? Dude, come on. That's just lame. That's not even a decenttrolling.

There was more gun deaths in one house a couple months ago than that.

Edit: For all the others who might take his troll seriously, Canada is one of the few first world countries who's gun crime is increasing exponentially faster.

The data shows that between 2013 and 2017, gun crime in Canada went up 42 per cent.

In 2013, there were 5,126 firearm-related gun crime incidents. By 2017, that number hit 7,660.

Forty-three percent of the national increase can be attributed to more gun-crime victims in Toronto, the same report found.

Statistics Canada data also shows that homicides committed with a firearm have jumped over the years.

In 2013, about 27 per cent of homicides involved a gun. That number jumped to 38 per cent by 2016.

According to more recent StatsCan data, there were 266 people killed by a firearm in 2017 — 43 more than in 2016. The year marked the fourth consecutive increase in the number of firearm homicides.

In 2018, 249 homicide victims in Canada were killed in shootings.

Re: TEXAS CHURCH WOULD BE MASSACRE

Via Fox News:

The man behind the deadly church shooting in Texas on Sunday had visited the congregation several times before, according to the church's senior minister, who noted the man received food but would get angry when he wasn't given cash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday identified the attacker as 43-year-old Keith Thomas Kinnunen. Wearing a fake beard, a wig, a hat and a long coat, Kinnunen opened fire in the West Freeway Church of Christ, in White Settlement, and killed Richard White and Anton “Tony” Wallace.

As authorities said Kinnunen's motive remained under investigation, the church's senior minister, Britt Farmer, told The Christian Chronicle he recognized the 43-year-old after seeing a photo of him without the disguise.

“We’ve helped him on several occasions with food,” Farmer told the Chronicle. “He gets mad when we won’t give him cash. He’s been here on multiple occasions.”

TEXAS CHURCH SHOOTING GUNMAN HAD 'SOMETHING NOT RIGHT' ABOUT HIM, WITNESS SAYS

Kinnunen, who died in the shooting, had a lengthy criminal history, including several arrests in North Texas and other states.

Court records obtained by FOX4 showed that the 43-year-old was arrested in 2009 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and in 2013 for theft of property. In another arrest in 2011 in Oklahoma, Kinnunen faced arson charges when he was arrested after purchasing "lamp oil and tampons" then setting them on fire in a cotton field, according to documents obtained by FOX4.

At the time of his arrest in Oklahoma, a family member told police that Kinnunen also “soaked a football in lamp oil, then lit it on fire and played ‘fire football.’”

The shooting on Sunday lasted only seconds before Jack Wilson, the head of the church's volunteer security team and a firearms instructor, fatally shot Kinnunen. A livestream of the church service showed the gunman getting up from a pew and talking to someone at the back of the church before pulling out a gun and opening fire.

“The only clear shot I had was his head because I still had people in the pews that were not all the way down as low as they could. That was my one shot,” Wilson told reporters outside his home in nearby Granbury on Monday.

TEXAS MAN WHO STOPPED CHURCH SHOOTING SAYS HE 'HAD TO TAKE OUT' GUNMAN BECAUSE 'EVIL EXISTS'

Within six seconds, the gunman was down, bleeding "profusely" from his head after Wilson fired one round. He told reporters on Monday he then pulled the shotgun away from the man's body as he was "twitching" and stood over him in case the shooter tried to get up, which he did not.

"You have to be prepared at all times, at all places," he said Monday. "And that's what I strive, that's the way I teach, that's the way I want people to understand if they are going to wear a firearm for personal protection for themselves, or family, or anyone else they need to be aware that it can happen anytime, anywhere."
