The truth of the matter is most people own guns because they want them. They want them and can own them so they buy them, and use self protection as a fallback.. I mean who wouldn't protect themselves. It's easier for them to justify the purchase to others by saying hey, I can protect myself.

Yes you can. Although your not gonna need 12 guns to do it, matter of fact you can't even use them all at the same time. I think a lot of people buy then because they can, not necessarily for protection, but if a cop asks you say "protection" not, "i like shooting shit", even though that's legal. People say protection as a kind of scapegoat IMO. It's true they can, but just be honest and say, hey I like shooting,or wanted to own one.so I did.

I own guns for protection, although I'm not afraid of anything, and they only get fired for recreation. Still they are for protection.

We have so many because we hunt and also collect handguns. We only have 3 for self defense. The one that stays in the locker and the two we have for concealed carry that stay in the locker unless we have them in our possession. Why for home protection? I live in an area where by the time cops come it is too late IF something were to happen. The closest station is 20 miles north of here. I have 4 kids that need my protection. My guns arent hurting anybody. I would only use one on another person if I felt my life or my families life was in immediate danger. I am kinda glad I have that right so I dont have to sit here if something were to happen and watch as my family was slaughtered in front of me while I waited for the cops.

What I will never understand is why americans are all paranoid, have yet to meet a canadian who has guns for protection, they are always locked away in gun safes.


Then again canada is a far safer place to live, someone breaks into your house and will take off his shoes so he doesn't dirty up the floor.
