They should be praising the cop.... Some would have never owned a flat screen T.V otherwise.

They can come up with all the evidence they want on the cop's behalf. It won't do any good as long as Ole Al Sharpton is on the media stand.

If Al started dancing in the street pooping in his hand, and tossing it at the cops... So will his followers.

While the officer did not know that Brown committed the robbery, you can sure bet that Brown thought the officer had him dead to rights and reacted as though he was caught for the robbery. This kind of shit happens all the time. Perpetrators commit a violent felony, and break numerous traffic laws in the getaway. Unsuspecting officer witnesses a traffic violation, and attempts what he considers a "routine" traffic stop.

Even if this officer is cleared of murder and avoids all charges, he's going to live in hiding for some time just like George Zimmerman and Casey Anthony. I hate to lump him into the same group with those two fucks, but whenever a case gets this much media attention (and when I started this thread, I didn't expect it to) this officer is bound to a life of not resuming who he was before.

The forensic pathologist hired by the family to do an autopsy isn't even a forensic pathologist.

My favorite part comes from the doctor Parcells' claims trained him. He gave a statement, “Shawn hung out at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office but was not trained by me.”…. “He has been representing himself in a way that is not appropriate by giving forensic pathology opinions when he is not qualified to do so.”

Re: St. Louis Riots After Cop Kills Unarmed Teen

Black people need to have a meeting about the appropriate time to riot (never in your own neighborhood) and protest about police brutality ( not when the subject has beat the shit out of the cop).

We all know police brutality goes on for all races of poor people, but cases like this just don't make the protesters look good and weaken their argument.

Just sayin

What the fuck though.
I can think of so many people that should've been killed by cops and weren't. Guys that shoot up movie theaters, guys that shoot up schools, people that abuse children sexually... Not unarmed kids.
It's being investigated but regardless of whether it was wrong or right the cop will get away with it.
The "unarmed" 18-year old (which is not a kid by legal standards) was 6'4" and weighed 300lbs. That is much larger than the stature of the cop. That, combined with the fact that there were two potential assailants present, represents the ability, opportunity, and jeopardy components that typically add up to a disparity-of-force situation for the smaller, outnumbered individual. In that situation, the law will typically permit the use of lethal-force to stop the attack, for both civilian and police alike.

So Michael Brown had the Ability to grievously harm the officer by virtue of his very large size -and- having another potential assailant to assist him.

And Michael Brown had the Opportunity to grievously harm the officer initially by leaning in through the open car window and later by means of physical proximity once they were both outside the car.

Finally, Michael Brown had placed the officer's well-being in Jeopardy because he was punching him while he grabbed for the officer's gun. An attempt to disarm an law officer of their firearm(s) is viewed the same as attempting to draw your own firearm, which will often result in lethal force being employed.

It wasn't an "unarmed kid that got shot". It was a "over-sized legal-adult that assaulted an undersized officer and got stopped from further assaulting said officer."

The motivation is to stop the attack. If the attacker dies as a result of the stopping force, that is an unintended consequence of stopping the attack using lethal force.

Untrained individuals "shoot to kill". Trained individuals "shoot to stop the attack" and stop when the lethal threat has been removed. The former demonstrates a preformed intent that should never be represented by a trained individual.

(And no, that's not just a nuance or word-polishing. It's called training. Cops have it. Military has it. Even a solid number of self-motivated civilians have it.)
I know exactly what I'm implying. You're not aware of what training I've had. I'm not even sure what your point is. But of course the cop had motive. Stopping the attack is a motive. And if he did shoot for the body the first 5 or 6 shots and the attacker continued seemingly unfazed I'm sure he changed his target area to the kill zone. Probably not for the head but center mass. And if Brown put his head down to charge that would explain the head shot to the top. I was considering his training in my post. And considering the events I'm positive the officer was attempting to stop the threat. I never meant he was trying to kill him, it's not something you think about during the event. But make no mistake, a lot can go through your mind in those few seconds. Like going from thinking I need to stop him. Too I'm going to stop him.

Re: St. Louis Riots After Cop Kills Unarmed Teen

Food for thought: as of the last year for which data was available, of the approximately 6,000 African-American homicide victims (with "homicide victim" being defined within the context of its usage here as being any person killed by another person regardless of the legality of said killing), less than 100 were killed in officer-involved shootings.

So...
