Ironically, she converted later in life to Islam. So… no accounting for intelligence there. I believe I read her 17 year old committed suicide. I’m assuming she might have as well, but who knows.

Never really was a fan of her, but that song and her interpretation of it were pretty amazing. Had no idea Prince composed that. Never really a fan of his either, but damn. That guy seems to have dabbled in all genres.

I agree that it seems most of her life she seemed bent on stirring up controversy for no reason.

I remember hearing her name mentioned a lot back in the 90's, pronounced as Shinado (like tornado) Connor and I didn't actually make the connection until decades later that it was spelled Sinead .

Stirring up controversy for no reason you say? She ripped up a picture of the Pope as a protest against all of the kiddie fiddling and the cover-ups, that's a good enough reason I would say.

I remember watching SNL live when she did that. I actually thought: "With so much pedophilia and child-rape enabled by the catholic church, all I can say is YOU GO, GIRL!"

The next day my niece got married and I had the DJ play her duet with The "Kingdom of Rain" in honor of her insolence. The DJ was not pleased with some of the lyrical content of that song

That's why I said "most" of her life, not all, because that was one of the few times she did it for a good reason.
