I thought she was a vegan, and planned to live a LONG time! Maybe she should have had a large McDonalds fries, and a Kit-Kat! |

I was a 90's kid and I don't even know why this bitch is famous. I always confuse her with Edie Brickell, who is an awesome songwriter and singer.

Re: Sinéad O’Connor Dies Aged 56
She’s famous because her song, and the video for the song “nothing compares to you” went as “viral” as anything could back in the day. Relying just on her facial expressions and a single tear at the end, she captured the sentiment of a song that at some point or another, everybody could identify with. If you are a 90’s kid, I have a hard time believing you somehow steered clear of this song that was playing all the time. And she became notorious and hated for ripping a picture of the pope when she was hosting SNL, saying something like “fight the real enemy” or whatever. Turns out she was right. Pretty much, a one hit wonder (but a really big hit), that openly called out one of the biggest authority figures in organized religion. That made her famous. Ironically, she converted later in life to Islam. So… no accounting for intelligence there. I believe I read her 17 year old committed suicide. I’m assuming she might have as well, but who knows. Never really was a fan of her, but that song and her interpretation of it were pretty amazing. Had no idea Prince composed that. Never really a fan of his either, but damn. That guy seems to have dabbled in all genres. |
