Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
i see... i thought those were legal in the uk too, but im not sure. they are here but they are pricey. They now have a device that is an adapter that threads onto the end of a threaded barrel (handgun or rifle) and the other end threads onto a car oil filter. |

Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
Until the last sentence I was convinced that you were being sarcastic ... like it's dark, so you need the suppressor to not wake the neighbors (who isn't annoyed by noisy neighbors?) and without suppressor the muzzle flash would probably blind you and keep you from falling asleep for up to half an hour.

Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
Presumably all of the silencers that are bought, will be used soley to aid hunting. I can't see any other application, speaking as someone who owns both a gun and a silencer - In the UK. Unless of course there are people out there who buy assault rifles, pistols and silencers just on the off-chance of a North Korean invasion, armageddon or a major home invasion by a gang of highly skilled assassins. Nah, I'm, sure people like that dont exist... |

Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
Suppressors work well but if shot in a house its still going to be loud as hell. Outside not so much. I shoot my AR and AUG from inside my garage and its deafening. Almost to the dual hearing protection stage.... some reason I have perfect hearing but always say "huh" or "what" I have come to the realization I can hear fine.... I just don't listen. Haha Pet Peeve: I don't like when people call suppressors "silencers" they don't silence shit. Lol. |

Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
im not saying they eliminate the report but you have to admit, the sound of a .45 acp vs a suppressed .45 acp is a big difference indoors on out. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/c2GchQ3orB0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: A Silencer Shop Has Just Opened in Austin Tx,
I screwed a buddies suppressor on my M&P 15-22 (22lr) and that was still loud. You could tell it was softer but still loud. On another note I'm having trouble not pouting since I read this thread. I can't find ammo anywhere. Even online..... I wanna shoot bad but I'm not digging into my stash of ammo. Never know when the zombies will come and I wanna be prepared lmao |
