They should be looking into that Dr Hackett weirdo. Even if he's not the killer, there's something not right. He phoned the girls mother and said he'd sedated her the day after she'd gone missing. Where did he get her number from? How did he know Shannan's name? Why would he make up that he had a home for wayward girls? He was very obviously involved in it, whichever way you look at it. But was he covering for himself, or someone else?

There's something with him for sure but why would her ride and the man she met with say she was screaming "he is trying to kill me" in the mans house before running out if it wasnt someone in that house? For them to witness that and then she runs off right into the arms of a serial killer not in the house seems far fetched. Was the doc at the other house perhaps? Did the driver get paid to look the other way? Was he the driver for all the girls on their final nights perhaps and delivered to the killer the ones found together?

I read Lost Girls, a book about the LI killer, and it was very detailed. Great book on the girls. I've been obsessed with this case ever since. The driver, the client and that doc are all involved imo.

That could be due to simple inner department fighting, the gross mishandling by the police leaving them with egg on their face, the desire to be the hero.....etc. That is if he wasnt somehow involved.

The fact the are just now saying she didnt accidentally run out of her clothes and drown is fishy as hell especially since her vertebrae in her neck area showed classic signs of strangulation. The original version was simply absurd.

Possible scenario:

She was just one of many that fell victim to a death ring enterprise. By that I mean there was a killing club of sorts. The clients paid someone big money to deliver a girl to them that they could torture and kill. The girl was then removed by the driver and disposed of.

This would explain why all of these bodies were in the same stretch, the method of advertising (the seller would know when a given girl was active due to listings), why they first thought it was different killers and how clients have been able to avoid incrimination (since they could pass a poly as they didnt technically deliver the final blow perhaps to the girls or dispose of them) and physical evidence would be lacking. Im thinking of the movie Hostel. Paid murder fantasy business.

Prostitutes are so disposable to society, sadly, that they are the perfect victim. Throw away people who disappear daily and nobody misses them.

I think you're right. That was my line of thinking, also. That there was some sort of ring here. That's why I asked your thoughts on the cop. I'm in two minds as to whether there is police involvement here, or simply some cover up to try to hide the incompetence...

I found out earlier today that Shannon's mum Mari was killed Saturday by her surviving 27 year old daughter Sarra. Very sad.

Ray said Sarra Gilbert is schizophrenic, has been in-and-out of mental hospitals, and turned violent in recent months, even killing a family dog right in front of her 8-year-old son.
