These things will continue to happen, as tragic as that may sound. We already have lots of past examples of similar things, where flammable things such as polyurethane foam for acoustic insulation resulted in massive indoor fires killing dozens and hundreds.

There was the massive fire in Rhode Island in 2003, in Argentina in 2004, in Wuwang in China in 2008, in a nightclub in Santa Maria in Brazil in 2013, in Bucharest in a nightclub in 2015. All the same issue.

Despite having clear laws about fire safety with polyurethane stuff in all these countries, needing checks after retrofitting etc in developed countries, people will just continue to find shortcuts like doing it DIY and not telling anyone or cutting corners to pass the checks.

You can add more checks and more laws and more stuff but in the end, you cannot have total surveillance of every single thing every owner of every place does behind doors.

Even if you ban every imaginable pyrotechnics for every single person, people will find a way to smuggle them in.

If we haven't found a way to eradicate these sorts of things after 22 years of public examples and stuff like this happens in one of the wealthiest regions on earth, we likely won't do much better in the future.

Less about banning sparklers and making sure people know that indoor fire is not a good idea most of the time. Hold management responsible for promoting such behavior.

Man, it's like The Station Nightclub fire here years ago. That's terrible, I wouldn't wish that death on anyone smh.

That egg crate foam being used as soundproofing is EXACTLY what happened at The Station nightclub fire. It’s extremely flammable and emits toxins in the smoke. What I don’t understand is why no one was helping those in the pile or even using the outside chairs to break windows. At the station fire people were burned trying to pull others out of the pile. These people got jammed up in the exit, but the staircase was wood! If 5-10 guys had grabbed on I’m sure they could’ve broke that railing off. This generation is unbelievably selfish and self important. It’s like they all have main character syndrome.

Yes! Watching the video i thought the same thing, my instincts were screaming BREAK THE RAILING! That jam could've been cleared for another 30, 45 seconds ... perhaps could have saved a dozen more lives...

There are countless such videos online with mass casualty events with fires in various venues. As I always say folks, as soon as you see the first flames, GET OUT!!! People can be so dumb. It's because of crowds. If other people act like it's nothing, then other people follow suit. And all of sheep burn together.

That was my first thought. And there have been MANY other similar incidents across the world. People will never learn. If you see a fire bigger than a zippo lighters flame, GET OUT immediately!
