So Russia was bombing the folks fighting the Assad regime, and I understand that Turkey was behind the people fighting against Assad's regime. Maybe they were pissed that their friends were being bombed by Russia. Maybe...or maybe WW3 is something that people subconsciously desire because the world is so fucked up.

Nato is going to ignore the possible convention violations, but maybe Russia will not ignore the shootdow and the subsequent killing of that pilot as he was attempting to parachute to safety. The Russians are intentionally increasingly creating a hostile relationship with NATO as an attempt at establishing and maintaining momentum.

thats what Ive s aid all along as well.
Russia and the US have common enemies that need to be sttopped, and if NATO and the US would realize that and look at the picture in detail instead of reliving the cold war, MAYBE just MAYBE something can be accomplished.

what is it going to finally take for Russia and the US to cooperate?

The Soviet Union dissolved from within (dry rot) because it was based on a bogus system that was simply unsustainable.

The Russians lost their national identity and standing in the world.

After the Russians floundered around lost for a couple of decades or so, KGB Putin went back to The Cold War Mentality because that's all that he and the Russian people knew.

He's trying to rebuild the old Soviet Union Evil Empire.

Like Erdogan is trying to rebuild the Ottoman Empire.

Like the Iraniums are trying to rebuild the Persian Empire.

It won't happen.
