Pregnant Teen Murdered
Police looking into the death of a heavily pregnant teenager who died in a flat fire have launched a murder investigation. Following a post-mortem on 19-year-old Nikitta Grender, who was reported to be eight months pregnant, police said the death is now being treated as "suspicious". Officers from Gwent Police and South Wales Fire Service were called to reports of a blaze at a flat in Liswerry, Newport, at 7.50am yesterday. Firefighters entered the heavily smoke-filled property wearing breathing apparatus and using a thermal imaging camera. They found the body of Ms Grender inside the first-floor flat.  A spokewoman from Gwent Police said: "As a result of the post-mortem and further inquiries, Gwent Police are now treating the death of Nikitta Grender as suspicious and have begun a murder inquiry. "Forensic investigations continue and specially trained officers are continuing to support the family." |

Update: The anguished boyfriend of murdered mum-to-be Nikitta Grender poured out his grief last night - and said: "My heart has been ripped open." Distraught ... Ryan Mayes Ryan Mayes, 18, posted a poignant Facebook tribute to Nikitta, 19, and their unborn daughter - his "angels". Nikitta, who dreamed of being a model, was stabbed to death at the home she shared with Ryan. The upstairs flat was then torched and Ryan returned from a night out to find firefighters tackling the blaze. He went online to honour Nikitta and their little girl - due in two weeks and already named Kelsey-May. Ryan wrote: "Heya my angels hope your ok... you meant the world to me and the bbey would have. "You were the best thing ever created ... i missed speakin to u this mrnin and giving u a kiss... i wish i cud be with u nw. My heart has been ripped open i love u bbey and kelc... 4 ever i promise. XXX" Nikitta was dropped at the flat in Newport, Gwent, at 1am on Saturday by pals who had been to McDonald's with her. Cops believe she knew her killer and may have let him in. A neighbour reported the blaze at 5.30am and fire crews found Nikitta's body in the bedroom. Her dog Missy was also dead. Cops arrested a suspect in connection with arson but he was freed before a post mortem revealed Nikitta had two knife wounds. |

That's sad. What's even more sad is that he will be a suspect due to some of the academy award winning actors who did the crime in the past.
