Old Woman Attacks Robbers in Northampton FEB 2011
5.15PM Mon, 7 Feb 2011 A woman's incredible bravery as she helped stop a gang of smash and grab raiders as they tried to break into a jewellers in Northampton. The drama began as six thieves on mopeds struck at the shop on Gold Street this morning using sledgehammers to break the windows. There's a much better video on LiveLeak. I think the fact that it was an old woman probably reminded these thugs of their own mothers and grandmothers, and that's why they didn't harm her. But just as heroic as her act might have been, those thugs could've easily turned the table and injured or even killed her. Not worth risking one's life over money and/or property. Not worth it. That jeweler's goods were bonded, and all stolen items would've been replaced with cash value. A life can't be given back. |
