i would say, attack the theistic beliefs and promote education. that's how you get people to drop old superstitions and move on. claiming the entirety of a religion's followers are 'lost causes' doesnt do anything to help anybody. it creates animosity and causes suffering of innocent people. why do i say this? because i was once a theist as well... i know first hand that indoctrination is a powerful thing... and i know first hand that a bit of education and somebody teaching me how to actually think logically (instead of people promoting credulity) was all it took for me to abandon the theistic nonsense.....but, had i been born in Sudan (which is simply luck of the draw) i would likely have been indoctrinated with either christian or islamic beliefs and would not have had any hope of losing my theistic ideals. it's saddens me to think that had my luck been different and had i been born else where, the people i respect would have considered me un-worthy of being on this planet.


as much as i despise theism (and i do... very much so.. all theism), i dont feel that the majority of theists are useless. misguided, yes... but useless? not at all. they are humans with feelings. they are capable of suffering as well as changing their opinions. if i felt the opposite, i would write off moderate christians in the western world first. at least people who practice Sharia law have the decency to take their bullshit literally instead of creating more and more nonsense to promote and protect a myth they dont really believe in, like most moderate christians in western society do. there is no reason for a person in modern western society, with easy access to information, to promote ignorance... yet theists in this society do just that.

It all comes down to that, really. The luck of the draw. All that separates any of us from being a concentration camp victim, a spoiled rich kid or a tortured/beheaded innocent, is simply where you were born, and to whom.

Sudan Death Sentence: Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag Gives Birth in Jail

A pregnant Sudanese woman sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity has given birth to a baby girl in prison.

Mariam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag, 27, was sentenced by a Khartoum court to death by hanging for apostasy and 100 lashes for marrying a non-Muslim husband under the country's strict Sharia law.

"She gave birth to a girl today. The mother and baby seem to be doing okay," said an unnamed Western diplomat.

"It's a cruel treatment to be in such a situation."

Ishag, who is being held alongside her 20-month-old son, was born to a Muslim father and is therefore viewed to be a Muslim under Islam.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby called on Ishag's sentence to be dropped.

"Our religions tell us that human interactions should be shaped by compassion and humanity, not by death sentences.

"It is vital that all people should enjoy freedom of conscience and be able to follow their own religion.

"Christians and Muslims should be able to coexist alongside each other, we emphasise that force and compulsion are not characteristics of either faith."

Ishag is to be allowed to care for her baby for two years before the death sentence is implemented.
