A US boy has been mauled to death and two others injured after they were attacked by a pack of pit bulls while on their way to school.

Logan Braatz, 6, Syari Sanders, 5, and another child from Atlanta were walking to their bus stop on Tuesday morning when they were set upon by a trio of dogs, Fox 5 reports.

Logan was killed in the attack and Syari's scalp was torn from her skull as neighbours who witnessed the incident raced outside with baseball bats and knifes to try and protect the children.


"Her face was totally dismembered," neighbour Angie Smith told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as she described Syari's horrific injuries.

Shamonta Clayton, who lives in the neighbourhood, chased the dogs away with his gun after they tried to attack the children a second time.

He told media he carried Logan's bloodied body to the ambulance where paramedics pronounced him dead.

Police immediately captured one of the dogs and two others were tracked down a short time later. Officers said one of the captured dogs had to be put down after it acted aggressively.

Logan's grandfather could barely contain his grief as she described his "wonderful little" grandson, Fox 5 reports.

"He’s named after me. He’s a wonderful little boy. This is something none of us wanted to face," he said.

"This has tore (sic) us apart."

Police arrested the dog's owner Cameron Tucker and charged him with reckless conduct.

Syari is currently being treated in hospital and the third child has been released after suffering only minor injuries, WSBTV reports.

Btw the "pack of pit bulls" were actually an American bully, which was caught and shown on tv, a border collie which they killed and another that got away. No idea on what breed the one that got away was. So, even Border Collies kill children.
Oh yea and I am not sure if Cameron owns all three dogs or just the American Bully, and if he doesn't own the other two, will the owners be charged?

Pitt bulls..... Kill'em all. Obviously, some of these dogs have a propensity for aggression. The problem is, you can't tell if they are going to kill until they do. Kill them all.
