Jeez that's awful, fair play to her for wanting to home unwanted cats but they would have been better being wild at that point My 2 cats have always been kept indoors and are very clean they smell like biscuits

An indoor cat is a safe cat. Bleaching the boxes once a month makes a huge difference, as well as cleaning several times a day!

She qualifies for an upgrade in status to Crazy Cat Queen.

I keep my cats indoors always. We have coyotes and foxes out here and we live off of a busy highway.
"A fixed cat dosent tend to wander..."

And if he does, there's always the ancient Micmac burial ground.

Mine are fixed but too fat and slow to be safe outside with predators. Also, Micmac? Is that like Melmac, where Alf is from? Alf likes to eat cats.

It was a reference to the movie Pet Sematary. The Micmac Indian burial ground in that movie made whatever was interred there to come back to life, evil as well. Good flick..

Re: Philadelphia 'Crazy Cat Lady' Surrenders to Police

What constitutes as "wandering"? There have been 6 cats that wandered into my yard and were killed(by my dog). Only one was an unneutered male. The rest were cats that were caught/altered/released by a neighbor.

Just because your pet isn't wandering miles away, doesn't mean it won't get killed a few houses away.

Have you guys ever seen videos on YouTube of people that have pet foxes? Have you seen their outdoor enclosures?

That's how cats should be contained while outdoors. They are climbers(like foxes) and should have similar containment methods.

Set it up with lots of mentally and physically enriching obstacles, toys and activities(including human interaction). The cat will be fine - just as a dog that gets enough enrichment is fine with containment. They too have a large natural territory, if allowed to roam.

No matter how big and bad your kitty is - it's still a prey animal. They fall into the predator AND prey category.
