Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

Nothing sounds as awesome as a hail of gunfire.
as long as its not aimed at YOU. Then its sounds like a hell every foreign correspondent, poet, author, historian, death metal band, sage has failed to describe!.

Islam! terrorism! open boarders! gun control! Blame canada! polite fuckers! This is a fox news wet dream but I fail to see how canada can be put down by right wingers over this. One person dead. No home's illegaly searched, no innocent people killed in the cross fire and the suspect was taken out by this guy

clint eastwood on acid wouldnt make this shit up

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

i'm surprised he could get in that far anyway.
This is an issue...... If this was better organized it could have been a disaster.
This guy got way to close, and It looks like he was just a lone idiot with limited if any training.

We need to step up security.

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

This is true, our security has been breached as well. But a guy carrying a rifle would never make it into the Capital Building or White House. The guy who made it into the White House only made it there because his hands were empty. But that's still no reason for it to happen. They should of put two in his head just so everybody knows what will happen.
What if he'd had a handgun concealed? What if he'd had a suicide vest on?

Same shit man, the issue is the breach itself.

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

Unlike many of our Canadian Cousins here on DR who take great pride in bashing the United States, I find absolutely no fault with Canada or her laws in this incident. With that said, I was rather personally disappointed and embarrassed by the buffoonery of the responding police. But aside from that (and I am overly critical because of my background), I see nothing that Canada did to warrant this cowardly act in any way...other than being a civilized Western country. Canada's laws and social norms are hers and her people's and they work...in Canada. I have no axe to grind with anything having to do with Canada. I just wish that our Canadian members would take the same tact with the United States. This is not about gun control...it's about people control. Canada has very strict firearms ownership and yet this type of random terrorist/crazy incident still happens...gun control has nothing to do with this type of shooting incident, it can happen anywhere at anytime...even in the most anti-gun utopia. I feel horrible that the young service member was murdered...he looked like a fine young man. Hopefully there will be a very detailed investigation into what happened and why the gunman got so far without being stopped. Hopefully Canada will tighten their security and nothing like this will ever happen again.

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

I don't know what people consider strict control of guns

Basically, you need to pass a competency test and a background check. I grew up around guns, fired them before I was even in school...... They are available for sale in sporting goods stores or gun stores everywhere.

I understand the what ifs. He could have very well been concealing a weapon. I was only stating why he was not shot. He was also not shot because the president wasn't there when it happened. Nobody is running into a building or property for that matter with a rifle where the president is.

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

Armchair comments from a retard. Did the job for thirty years up until the day I retired. The cops on the video are cowardly ill trained boobs and should be ashamed of themselves. The guy that shot the bad guy was the Sergeant At Arms...NOT the guy you want shooting anyone. He's the absolute last line of defense. Considering how limp wristed Canada is about firearms and using any kind of force...I'm pleasantly suprised he was armed and willing to shot. The very frightening part is that he would've had to actually reach the inner chambers for the Sergeant At Arms to get him...he should've been stopped WAY before that.
Didnt expect that comment from you man, what exactly makes you think they are cowardly? & also had no idea you have 30 years experience as an officer

Re: Parliament Hill Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

Most of the cops did appear kinda clueless, clumsy and awkward which is understandable from people untrained for situations like this.

Just as the US was during 9/11.

The Canucks will quickly get up to speed, I believe.

The dogs photo is poignant.

I think the Muslims would fit in really well there. It would be just like home with all that dry heat, balaclavas, and heads being chopped off, you know?
