Re: Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread

That was quite an entertaining match today, especially towards the end. The U.S.A have done so well this World Cup though, they're a very likeable team having no divers in the side, and wanting to attack anyone they play...Klinsmann deserves a lot of credit for the way he has got them playing too, they just struggled against a very strong Belgium team.

Tim Howard I think has been a stand out player in this World Cup, and so far not a single Keeper has been as good as him, and again that showed in todays game.

This Belgium team though frustrate me a lot, they have so many good players, they defend well, attack well up until to the point of finishing off their chance...they could've easily have won todays match by scoring 3 or even 4 goals...they need to start improving on their finishing if they want to win this competition.

Now I can't wait to see Belgium play Argentina, and again I fully expect this to be another tight match, but I don't rate this Argentine team as much as many others do...I find them quite overrated. On paper though they have so many great players (Messi, Aguero, Di Maria etc), but they don't work well enough as a team for me, I think they'll struggle physically against the Belgians too.

My quarter final predictions are...

France 2-1 Germany

Brazil 2-1 Columbia

Argentina 1-2 Belgium

Netherlands 2-0 Costa Rica

England were the worst team this WC, we were quite simply embarrassing

The USA have a better team than England currently, without a doubt

Re: Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread

Congrats to the eight finalists in the 2014 World Cup.

Picks: Brazil will flop against Colombia. (You heard it here first)

France over Germany in a close game, perhaps penalties.

Argentina advances to the semis

Netherlands outclasses Costa Rica.

Re: Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread

Barack Obama has told US World Cup hero Tim Howard to shave off his beard to avoid adoring fans when the team arrive home......

Nothing to do with the fact he looks like a radical Islamic terrorist then.
