Hampton stabbings: Man charged with four attempted murders  A man has been charged with four attempted murders after four women were stabbed near a supermarket car park in south-west London. Ethem Aydin Orhon, 66, of Deacons Walk, Hampton, will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court later. He is charged with four counts of attempted murder and one of possession of an offensive weapon following the incident in Hampton on Friday. The four women are still in hospital and all are in a stable condition. Police were called at about 10:30 BST on Friday to The Avenue in Hampton, Richmond-Upon Thames, close to a Sainsbury's supermarket. Three women were found with stab injuries at the store's car park. A fourth woman was found at a property nearby. London Ambulance Service said the women were treated at the scene for stab wounds to the chest, legs and back. One of the victims, aged 53, was taken to a major trauma centre by an air ambulance while three others, aged 67, 62 and 71 years old were taken by road to a south London hospital as "priority".  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-36349693 Hampton, UK - This horrific story is largely ignored because the knifeman was Muslim. Worse, every single media outlet (including the one at the Weekly Standard that posted the video of eyewitness accounts) scrubbed the lede — that the jihadi was screaming Lee Rigby’s name. May 22nd was day Lee Rigby , a young British soldier, was beheaded by devout Muslims on a London street in broad daylight. Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale ran him down with a car, then used knives and a cleaver to stab and hack him to death. Make of this what you will.  |

Where did you hear he was shouting that? I heard this story a week ago but never read anything about jihadi motives. Witnesses say he was just randomly attacking women like a crazy person and was subdued at the scene by the threat of a taser which wasn't used.

Sounds pretty tenuous. Maybe people were saying it was like the Lee Rigby - bit of Chinese whispers? I guess his motive will be known at the hearing. I just gathered he was a nutcase. |
