Mom Blames 2-year-old for Wandering Off
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a woman after her 2-year-old child was discovered wandering around near Dixie Highway. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening. Police say the 2-year-old walked out of the mother's apartment in the 1100 block of Dixie Hwy. During the course of evening, police say the infant walked across Dixie Hwy., S. 21st St. and S. 22nd St. The child was eventually found by a Good Samaritan's Home, and the staff there contacted police. Carrie Drake says she was in the right place at the right time. Tuesday night, she was saying goodbye to family when she looked up: "I was so scared, here's a little baby two and a half years old out by herself." The officers attempted to find the mother of the child, but they had no means of identifying her. Police say it wasn't until "much later" that the mother, 20-year-old Pages C. Brents, called police to file a missing person's report on the child. When officers arrived at her home, they detected a strong smell of marijuana. "Officers discerned that the child wandered off while the mother was smoking marijuana and was intoxicated," the arrest report states. At some point, police say the mother opened her apartment door to air out the marijuana smell, and that's when the child walked out. Police say Brents confessed to the crime, but continued to blame the child for walking out. Carey Klain, Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman, says, "It's just unbelievable, children have parents and were here to take and protect them and we have those parents that their lives are more important." Brents has been charged wanton endangerment and disorderly conduct.  · |

Well I hope they took the child from her depending on the outcome of the case. Another stupid ghetto girl having babies and can't be responsible for them.

At the apartment complex I live at there was a three year old that got hit by a car, a week later I found out no one was able to be identified as the parent/guardian. Because the fucking parent knew they were going to go to jail for letting there kid run around without supervision they let the kid go for life. Thats the average peice of shit people wondering around out here.
