Re: Mentally Ill Mother Abuses 19 Day Old Son on Camera.
Well they do classify by Mood meaning (emotions and brain chemistry) and personality meaning it is an ingrained part of your personality. Those with mood disorders can be treated easily while personality disorders are a little more difficult to treat. I agree with a psychiatrist named Thomas Ssasz who believes most mental illness is not mental or illness but rather problem coping behaviors. He agrees there are disorders that have a distinct biological and physiological cause but many things we have classified as disorders are just trying to reinforce a social definition of normal. Take that lady in the video. She was obviously mad at the father of the baby so she took it out on the baby. She is a spiteful bitch not insane. She cannot deal with her poor relationship or her raging hormones so she acts out in inappropriate ways to deal with her shitty life. Her kids suffer for it. What a cunt and her boyfriend is too. |

There's actually something like postpartum depression only more severe called postpartum psychosis and its extremely rare. Some women with it actually hallucinate and believe their babies are evil (could explain her religious chants). Postpartum psychosis occurs mostly in women who were bipolar. Just a thought |

Luckily, I've never had the psychosis part but I had PP depression really bad.. Its the reason I only have one kid too. Mine wasn't bad enough to where I wanted to hurt anybody but I defiantly could've hurt myself. BUT I got medical attention...This was 6 years ago. Now I'm perfectly happy and have an awesome 6 year old girl! |

But she recognized she had it and consciously made the decision to get help and not have another child. She did not harm or kill the kid, right? My point is that not every person who has psychosis or schizophrenia or any disorder where reality is gone hurts someone. At what point do you become responsible for your behavior? She did not have to throw the baby, she could have beat her own head against the wall. |
