Police in Wayne, Michigan, say at least one person is injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting at a church Sunday morning.

According to police, the suspect, Brian Anthony Browning, 31, drove up with an AR-15 "style" weapon, a semi-automatic handgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition & a vest, fired at the church during a Sunday service.

He was struck by a parishioner’s vehicle and fatally shot by church security staff. One security member was injured in the leg but was stable after surgery.

Approximately 150 people were inside the church, and the quick response of the security team and parishioner likely prevented a mass shooting.

His mother attends that church.

Police say the staff members' actions prevented a large-scale mass shooting.

This occurred yesterday, June 22nd, just after 11:00am. This is the church my husband and I were married in. My brother’s friend’s friend saw the shooter in the parking lot with full tactical gear and an AR heading for the church door, so he hit the assailant with his truck. His truck was shot all to heck, but thankfully he wasn’t hit. Two conceal carrying church employees took the shooter down in the parking lot, surely preventing mass casualties. One of the employees was shot in the leg, which was the only injury other than the shooter being killed. The video doesn’t show any gore, but you can hear the shots fired and see the reaction of the congregation, which was emotional to me because I used to attend this church and, as a teacher, I’m constantly making “active shooter plans” in my head
