POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. -
The man who was charged with first-degree murder after reportedly killing his stepfather was sentenced to 30 years in prison, officials said.

Brad Lee Davis pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in May.

Investigators said Davis and Denver St. Clair, 58, had been in a fight, resulting in St. Clair's death.

Davis told police that he and St. Clair were arguing when Davis pulled his stepfather's underwear over his head in an "atomic wedgie," which left him unconscious on the ground. Davis said St. Clair was still alive when he left the room to make a phone call, but his stepfather wasn't breathing when he came back.

Police said St. Clair's death was a result of blunt force trauma and asphyxiation from the underwear being over his head.

Sky News features it with couple other disturbing details:

Brad Davis, 35, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in May.

His 58-year-old stepfather, Denver Lee St Clair, was found dead at his home in McLoud, Oklahoma, in December 2013.

Mr St Clair was said to have bullied Davis all his life

Davis, a former Marine, had pulled Mr St Clair's underwear over his head during a fight.

The elastic band of the blue underwear became wrapped around his neck and strangled him.

Davis told investigators he had given Mr St Clair an "atomic wedgie".

He said he did not mean to kill his stepfather, but the pair came to blows after Mr St Clair insulted Davis' mother.

She was in hospital recovering from hip surgery at the time of the deadly altercation.

Davis' lawyer said his client, who lived in a trailer owned by his stepfather and mother, had been bullied by Mr St Clair all of his life.

The court heard he took mobile phone pictures of Mr St Clair as he lay unconscious and gurgling on the floor.

Pottawatomie County District Judge John Canavan said he found this detail disturbing, reports the Oklahoman newspaper.
