Jerry Springer Dead At 79
The talkshow host Jerry Springer, a former mayor of Cincinnati whose work was vastly influential in daytime TV worldwide, has died. He was 79. Springer’s family said he died “peacefully” on Thursday at home in Chicago. In a statement, the family said: “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word."

Re: Jerry Springer Dead At 79
fun fact: I used to live in Cincinnati when jerry springer was a city councilor & was doing editorial spots on the rock station webn. they were like the final thought from his talk show. but onto the fun fact about him - he hired a prostitute & paid with a check & then resigned as mayor (due to the evidence of the check) but then ran again & was voted back into office. https://www.wcpo.com/lifestyle/from-...or-sex-in-1974 |

Re: Jerry Springer Dead At 79
He was incredibly popular. I used to watch him during the day when I worked the night shift at work. Being a graduate of the Colombian School of Forensic Medicine and Plumbing, I very quickly noticed things like : "The Jewish Girl Married To A Black U.S. Nazi Party Member" had actually been on a couple months earlier as "Slave Chick To A Biker Gang", and before that, "Me And My Girlfriend Want To Marry My Cousin" a few months earlier than THAT. I was going to start a register of guests to keep track of all the duplicates who showed up in various roles, but then I thought: "Oh, fuck it!" and ate some cookies instead. It was always entertaining in it's basic stupidity, and would have been good as the first on-line betting show regarding when the first fight was gonna start. It was a good way to pass a couple hours when it was 115 degrees outside and I didn't feel like doing anything. And you didn't have to keep up with any plot lines, since the title of the show always told you what you actually needed to know. |
