Re: Interviews with 6 of Bergdahl's Platoon Mates.
They signed the NDAs while they were still in the service. Any violation of the NDAs at that time would have brought on an innavigable shitstorm which could have included penalties up to dishonorable discharge. Bergdahl only recently became a household name, so there's no telling how much these guys may have cared before the media got hold of the story because the media simply wasn't covering it. I also read elsewhere that following Bergdahl's disappearance, U.S. forces in Afghanistan picked up radio chatter that mentioned an American soldier who was looking for any member of the Taliban who spoke English. Plus there were a number of statements attributed to Bergdahl in which he stated his desire to wander off should deployment not be to his liking. It's not like these guys got this information from higher command. If nothing rlse, command were the ones trying to suppress it. But grunts and bushwhackers will keep their mouths shut about shit like this for only so long. It's not as if Bergdahl had been a shit soldier for the entirety of his enlistment and now former servicemembers are now suddenly coming out and shitting on him because of it. At most, he was a weirdo and a malcontent that still did his job right up until he bailed. Plus not a single soldier has spoken up in his defense. If he is truly innocent of the things of which he's being accused, then you'd think that at least one of his buddies from his old unit wouldbhave come out and said as much. |

Re: Interviews with 6 of Bergdahl's Platoon Mates.
The tradeoff was in poor taste and not worth it. I read somewhere that the deteriorating conditions of Bergdahl was the reason the trade was approved. So we released five high-risk national/international security threats in exchange for a traitor? Six brave men died trying to rescue this guy - I really hope the truth unfolds. Bergdahl is a disgrace to our nation and our military.
