Aw what a truly heartwarming story! Wonder if Vida produced milk for them? I've heard animals can do that.
I hate to say this, but no. If she was spayed she can no longer lactate. The pups find suckling soothing, so that's why they are attached. But if they do find an un-spayed female, she can help those pups out.
