"Mr. McDaniel showed a video and let the children form their opinions. He did not push anything. If you want to be in full control of what your child learns, homeschool them. Period."

The parents sound like Catholics to me. They always make up "clean" words to describe genitalia. I thought my vagina was a tuppence slot for quite a few years.

That is just weird to me. My children knew the proper names for all their body parts at five years old, what's the big deal about that?

Sure this is silly, but i bet you living in Idaho is a much more pure and clean place for a youngster to live in then the filthy disease infested places like New york city or detroit. The positives out weigh the negatives compared to the filth that is ravaging big parts of the country.

Its completely fucked up..... There is a huge relation between teenage birthrates and sex ed.
teens with access to birth control and sex ed have a much lower pregnancy rate, I don't know why you'd want your teenager pregnant.

He is accused of teaching "sex education material" in a science class, describing "inappropriate" forms of birth control, telling "inappropriate" jokes in class and showing a video clip that depicted a genital herpes infection.

McDaniel said the parents even objected to his use of the word "vagina" in the lesson on human reproduction, according to MagicValley.com.

At a school board meeting, Katie Norman, one of the parents who objected, reportedly demanded prior warning of sensitive topics like birth control so that she could excuse her child from the class.

But McDaniel told MagicValley.com that none of the 10th graders are required to attend that day's class and that he only handles sex education because the school's health teacher won't.

If you grow up in a normal household with responsible parents that care for you, they will explain the dangers of promiscuity to you. I'm not saying im against sex ed either though.

Re: Idaho Teacher Explains "vagina" in Sex-ed..being Investigated (!)

In 1975, when I was in 5th grade and aged 10 years (in a class that also included 4th graders aged 9 years), we had a day or two of sexual education in school. We were told what a penis and a vagina were.
