Any no, it's not "victim blaming." You solve a problem by taking the easiest course of action. And nothing is easier than blocking someone's number and not being with them anymore.

Maybe if you're not married and don't have children. Plenty of women end up being isolated from friends and families after the birth of their children, are forced out of their jobs and have their bank accounts seized by controlling spouses thus becoming financially destitute which makes it impossible to leave. Then there's the toxic attitudes towards single mothers etc.

However Gabby Petito was young, childless and not married. She could have walked away and gone back to her family.
