Re: Homeless US Man Who Returned Diamond Engagement Ring Rewarded
You usually get caught at some point. Phony sick child and adult cancer scams have been around. Sad for those who really need the help |

Yeah, D's right. You'd be better off orchestrating an elaborate worker's comp claim. I would recommend filing a bogus sexual harassment suit, but the people who make libelous accusations like that, just for money make me sick. |

Re: Homeless US Man Who Returned Diamond Engagement Ring Rewarded
I live in Kansas City and have seen this man many times. He's always outside the AMC movie theater that sits on the Plaza. Poor guy. He's got something very wrong with him like a mental disability or something, but glad to see something this heart warming happen this close to home.

Re: Homeless US Man Who Returned Diamond Engagement Ring Rewarded
Even the false WC claims will come back to you. There are cameras and investigators everywhere. The only people who don't know that are the criminals. I'd like to know why, with the sexual harassment suits, people wait until the supposed perp is famous or rich to do anything. I already know the answer to that ;) Aren't there statutes of limitations on sex crimes? I'd like to see them have no statutes, but, as far as I know, only death cases have no statutes. I think double jeopardy is bull, too! |

Re: Homeless US Man Who Returned Diamond Engagement Ring Rewarded
I'm not certain about all of them, but I know for a fact that there are no statues of limitation in cases involving rape/statch' rape, child molestation and incest. I know this after years of trying to convince a good friend of mine to bring charges and testify against her biological father who's guilty of every damn one of the aforementioned charges. But like so many other victims of sexual abuse, shame and humiliation keep her silent. She was 15 at the time, and in her mind that was old enough to avoid the whole thing had she only tried harder to just say "No". And I don't have any evidence to take him to court myself...Yet ARGH! I want to skin that son of a bitch alive Putting limitations on sex crimes like that would be far more more dangerous then allowing limitations in murder cases. Run around killing enough people someone's bound to notice it pretty quick . It doesn't take thirty years to figure out that body on the floor is dead. But a child rapist with a true talent for manipulation can go undetected for decades. When you finally find a victim courageous enough to actually testify against their abuser, they better not be ignored because they took too long in pressing charges (Goddamn, we've gotten pretty far off topic, eh? |
