I'd have shot him, too. He seemed to be reaching inside his jacket, turning around to conceal his actions. We may never know but not only did he hit a cop after driving recklessly, he said he'd die before going to prison.

I read on some news site (sorry don't remember which) that he did have a loaded 9mm in the pocket he appeared to be reaching for.

I don't think it was the glamorous shoot-out he was hoping for, he just got shot by some Trooper on a "droppin a deuce" break in the woods.

Without audio a lot will go unknown. To ME, it looks like he was absolutely no threat whatsoever. How can a man in deep snow, with his hands wayyyyy up, 10 feet from his vehicle do much of anything??

I read he was shot while driving which prompted his fast exit from the vehicle. He clearly was giving the appearance of conpliance. The subtle movement of his hand that "prompted the fatal shots" looks VERY odd to me.

It looks more like one of a few things. 1 he was reaching/addressing the previous gunshot wound he had. 2 he simple stumbled, got snow on his face, whatever causing a very brief reaction that was seen as "reaching for a gun". Or 3, the most likely from what I see, he was shot THEN moved his arms to grab the wound.

Also, have you known anyone to carry a gun in a top pocket like that?? I sure don't. And why we would he reach for a gun with his non-shooting hand?? Doesn't make sense...

I have rarely seen a more transparent, lame and dishonest attempt at excuse making before.

Seems pretty justified to me, I could only imagine how intense it would be for the cops in situations like that. He clearly reaches into his pockets for something, and not just one hand, both hands go for something, I would have pulled the trigger in a heartbeat.

I've been through this site A LOT over the past couple of months. Seen tons and tons of cop shootings. Out of all of them, there is MAYBE 1 that I thought wasn't justified.

But this one is bad. Everyone keeps saying he reached for something and was consequently shot. Someone please tell me how you know this was the order of events without audio???? Everyone's so convinced! It looks clear to me that he was shot and then put his hands down to grab the wound!

I'd love to be proven wrong but so far the best retort has been "nope, you're stupid".
