Ahmaud Arbery Death Investigation

Glynn County, GA (May 7, 2020) – On May 7th, 2020, the GBI arrested Gregory McMichael, age 64, and Travis McMichael, age 34, for the death of Ahmaud Arbery. They were both charged with murder and aggravated assault. The McMichaels were taken into custody and will be booked into the Glynn County Jail.

On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery was in the Satilla Shores neighborhood in Brunswick, GA when both Gregory and Travis McMichael confronted Arbery with two firearms. During the encounter, Travis McMichael shot and killed Arbery.

This case is being investigated in partnership with District Attorney Tom Durden.

On May 5th, 2020, District Attorney Tom Durden formally requested the GBI investigate the death of Ahmaud Arbery. The Kingsland Office initiated an investigation on May 6th, 2020.

On April 29th, 2020, the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) requested that the GBI investigate allegations of threats against GCPD and individuals involved in the active investigation.

On the morning of May 5th, 2020, GCPD requested the GBI investigate the public release of video related to Arbery’s death.

This is part of the pagentry. Since they have the 'jogger' on video breaking into house, now they will say that the jogger wasn't breaking into house on that morning. They'll say on that morning he was legitimately out for a jog in a neighborhood 15 minute drive away from his own neighborhood. Even though he was peering into houses on the day of the shooting - this time he didn't plan to steal. If your neighbors were being terrorized by this man, over and over, wouldn't you at least try to ask him why he is terrorizing you until the police came? CCP are legal and he grabbed for the gun, trying to take it off the man who was legally carrying it - that's when it fired. Hope these citizens get a fair trial. It is a fact he was robbing houses, he is caught on tape doing it. Fact that he brought guns to a high school event and was caught. Fact that no one wears jogging pants that are lower than the knees. Notice - we don't care what race he is, just that he was out committing crimes and was asked a question. Poor guys, helping to protect their fellow man, and the kids that may have been injured by this violent thief and now their lives are ruined.

This is actually one of the reasons I believe they shot him. Because Blacks seem to have some sort of privilege, that if any sign comes up that their race came into play, they may have a chance to get out of their crimes. They new the police wouldn’t resolve the matter, and in just a few days he’d be back out on the streets. Justice isn’t only reserved for policemen, we can also take justice into our own hands, (always remember that) such is what happened in this case.
