Re: Fatalities!
Me too!. But you are a bit right on how "rednecks" are here in USA. Or Hillbillies if you wish to call them that. Construction crews are just chock full of ignorant people sometimes. Last project I was on the kids were asking me how to set up thier equipment. God only knows how they found thier way to work. And all those examples I copy pasted of silly Aussies could just as well happen here in USA. In fact I have had a few incidents simular to those. Mines, refineries, and shipyards are extremely dangerous places. People make mistakes and people die. Australia has it's own share of idiots, of that I am sure. And maybe just a wee bit more than thier fair share? |

Re: Fatalities!
My favorite is number 7. Personal story: My first wife lost her set of keys to the house and auto. So when I got home I surrendered my set to her with the stipulation she would get a new set. She neglected this. Couple weeks later I am home again on the weekend and resting after driving trucks all week. She rings the house and says she has locked her keys in the auto. Well Dang!. So I get a friend to give me a ride to the shopping center and I have a coat hanger and pliers. I fashion a tool to get in through the door seam and unlock the auto. As I am getting in to drive home she walks over to where I have tossed the bent coat hanger, retrieves it and places it under the passenger seat. I ask her what that is for. "In case I lock the keys in the car again" she replies. I started to point out the fallacy of this line of thought when it dawned on me that if I have to explain these things...I really am wasting my breath. |
