Re: Facebook and Privacy

Yea but look at the aggregate effects of social networking sites. Increased sensitivity to rejection, increased hostility to opposing views, higher chance of confirmation bias, increased black and white thinking, social and emotional superficiality, decreased communication skills, etc. Earlier generations had better social skills because they often had no choice but to socialize only with people from their neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces, and saw them often enough to see the different sides of their personalities and learn how to deal with them positively.

You are insanely bright, and yes, that is a real complement. I have to read your posts multiple times to 'get' them. I used to be smarter, until a wicked TBI in 2009, but I digress. Love your posts.

Re: Facebook and Privacy

Facebook had the potential to be so much more, then they go and pull shit like this. Want a lesson on what not to do if you want your site to thrive in the digital age, don't data farm your members. It doesn't matter if you care who knows what sites you visit, this new software is an invasion of personal privacy.
