Re: Expectant Parents of Anencephalic Baby's Bucket List Response Amazes * update
I would like to think I'd be brave enough to abort at the three month ultrasound when the condition revealed itself. I have never been pregnant, but, everyone has their own beliefs. The baby will never see anything they have done, but, I guess it's to make themselves feel better and not forget that there could have been a son. I would think it would be harder to carry the baby in your body for 9 months, then lose him, assuming one has the maternal instinct. |

The fact they are all on FB blown any amount of credit I could muster up for them. I can not stand people on FB updating me with their boo hoos and constant daily activities. |

It seems to me (with the Facebook stuff) that its more about THEM. Why would they be registered at Babies R Us? Its not like they would need any baby stuff. |

Re: Expectant Parents of Anencephalic Baby's Bucket List Response Amazes * update
My first reaction was, "how selfish". Let that little guy go. I watched the video and I sort of understand. It's not really about the baby at this point. He is not aware of anything, nor will he be after he is born. Regardless of that, there is a living, breathing being inside her, that is their son. Having been pregnant, I know how it feels to bond with that little one, while pregnant. Knowing what they are up against, and the odds of this little guy surviving, this is now about them. Not in a selfish way, but finding a way to make a memory of that baby, and learn to cope with his eventual death. Either way (abort or keep the baby) it is a tragic loss to suffer and unless I were in their shoes, I can't really say what I would do. It sounds selfish to bring this baby into the world, only to have it die, but this way, it dies in its parents arms, vs being aborted. |

Well....I just looked this up. So, you never know. However, I agree with you...the odds are not in their favor and registering or having a baby shower is ridiculous. Wait and see if the baby is thriving, then deal with a shower. |
