'Ex-Gay' Christian Blogger Caught on Grindr
"An "ex-gay" Christian advocate, who blogs about how religion saved him from a life of homosexual sin, was recently discovered on gay hookup app Grindr. Matt Moore, a blogger for the Christian Post, writes extensively about how Christianity has helped him to turn away from a gay lifestyle. But, apparently it didn't help him quite enough to steer him away from Grindr."* 'Ex Gay' Matt Moore, who supposedly went through Christian gay conversion was exposed for having an account with Grindr, a hook-up app for gay men. He apologized profusely, saying he was disobedience. Is he just denying his sexuality in the name of religion? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HJhVCK6rHCw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: 'Ex-Gay' Christian Blogger Caught on Grindr
I think that goes without saying. Gay men can be "cured" just as much of being gay as heterosexuals being heterosexual. We might need to keep a close eye on pastor Ted Haggard, just in case the devil tempts him to do crack and enjoy the company of gay masseurs again <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/W6rSjrBhUIA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GbvVPzIsJWw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: 'Ex-Gay' Christian Blogger Caught on Grindr
I've never believed you can be 'cured' of homosexuality. It's at a genetic level, who you are. They can choose to be abstinent but no way 'cured'. My cousin is gay and hates the way the circles he moved in were so promiscuous and he got hurt a lot. He's chosen abstinence but he is still gay. It's tragic he feels unable to have a (his words) 'normal relationship' As far as religion goes (and non-religious people too) I've come to understand it's what they do sexually that is thought of as 'wrong' rather than who they are. I appreciate their point to an extent (re: male sodomy) but it's behind closed doors, private and they shouldn't be made to feel unable to partake in all aspects of life. It's discrimination. |

Re: 'Ex-Gay' Christian Blogger Caught on Grindr
When old religious documents were written, homosexuality was considered sinful. It must have been thought of as a lifestyle choice maybe? Surely now science/medicine has proved it's not a choice but the way you're born changes things? It ought to! |

Re: 'Ex-Gay' Christian Blogger Caught on Grindr
I feel bad for this guy. He has been made to believe that what he feels is wrong and evil. People are born with whatever sexuality they have. Gay people can't be made heterosexual any more than a heterosexual person can be made gay. Living against what you are at a genetic level does not make for a happy, fulfilled life.
