Dubai police add 690bhp Lamborghini Aventador to fleet

Dubai isn't shy of a few hot supercars, the city has one of the highest concentrations of exotic motors in the world.

So potent is the machinery on offer, the Dubai police force has decided to add a £360,000 Lamborghini Aventador to its fleet of crime busting cop cars.

The two-door, two-seater supercar can manage a top speed of 217mph and hit 62mph from a standstill in an eye-watering 2.9 seconds.

Despite being decked out in full Dubai police livery and sporting a rather fetching set of lights, the car is unlikely to engage in any high speed pursuits as it has been introduced purely as a marketing exercise.

The attention-grabbing car will be dispatched to busy tourist areas to show "how classy Dubai is". Those aren't our words, they are those of Dubai's deputy police director Gen Khamis Matter al-Muzaina.

According to The Telegraph, local media reports said the Italian-made Lamborghini Aventador is the crown jewel of a wider upgrade in Dubai police wheels.

The force is also adding some American muscle to its fleet with a considerably less expensive Chevy Camaro.

I have more respect for a country that has the ability to build cars on their own, like italy. Countries like dubai do not invent or build things themselves. Those types of countries are completed depended on foreign countries. Nothing wrong with being rich. But i think its more impressive when you build your own shit.

They own a lot of infrastructure in the west and future projects aswell.

They may be greedy bastards but they're spending it on us.

I don't think you understood my point, yes they got alot of money to spend and buy/own things. But their people are not the brains behind the operation, meaning the skilled workers building the stuff.
