Drug Charges Filed Against 5 in Killing of Matthew Perry
From LA Times Federal Authorities have filed drug charges against five individuals, including two medical doctors, in connection with the death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry, authorities said Thursday. The two lead defendants are Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen," and Salvador Plasencia, nicknamed "Dr. P," according to U.S. Atty. Martin Estrada. They are facing conspiracy to distribute ketamine, distribution of the drug resulting in death, possession with intent to distribute and altering and falsifying records related to a federal investigation, among other charges, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday. Estrada said during a news conference Thursday that the defendants "took advantage of Mr. Perry's addiction to enrich themselves." “These defendants were more interested in profiting off Mr. Perry than caring about his well being," Estrada said. The group distributed 20 vials of ketamine to Perry for $55,000 in cash, Estrada said. |

Re: Drug Charges Filed Against 5 in Killing of Matthew Perry
They set him up to die for sure. Trained his live in care person how to inject him with ketamine, and he was injected multiple times the day he died. He probably would have died if he wasn’t in a hot tub - had enough ketamine in him to be under general anesthesia. I know he was a drug addict, and he has to take some culpability here - but those people straight up killed him with their greed |

Re: Drug Charges Filed Against 5 in Killing of Matthew Perry
Hope they all get life. Prosecutors say that Matthew Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamassa, worked with his doctors and a drug dealer named Erik Fleming to procure ketamine for the actor. Jasveen Sangha, who is accused of distributing ketamine, was arrested Thursday and pleaded “not guilty” in court. Court documents reveal that two doctors were also involved in procuring ketamine for Matthew Perry despite knowing about his history of drug abuse. They also discussed how to overcharge the actor for the drugs. In one disturbing text message that has been revealed, Dr Salvador Plasencia, accused in the case, messaged another doctor asking: “I wonder how much this moron will pay.” After learning of Matthew Perry’s death from the news, she tried to distance herself from the actor. The “Ketamine Queen” reportedly texted Erik Fleming and asked him to delete their text message history. Sangha has been accused of selling 50 vials of ketamine to Perry over two weeks. She earned $11,000 through the transactions, according to US Attorney Martin Estrada. The indictment alleges that Sangha was well aware of the dangers of ketamine overdose. In August 2019, she sold ketamine to Cody McLaury, who died of an overdose. After learning about McLaury’s death, Sangha apparently did a Google search for “can ketamine be listed as a cause of death.” Erik Fleming, one of the five arrested in Matthew Perry's drug overdose case, is a former filmmaker who once directed Scarlett Johansson in a 1999 movie. |

Meh, most drug addicts die from their addictions. This is just heavy handed prosecution driven by Hollyweird classism, not murder.

Re: Drug Charges Filed Against 5 in Killing of Matthew Perry
The U.S. faces an unprecedented surge of drug deaths, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reporting another grim milestone this week. In 2022 fatal overdoses claimed 101,623 lives. But researchers and drug policy experts say the grim toll obscures an important and hopeful fact: Most Americans who experience alcohol and drug addiction survive. They recover and go on to live full and healthy lives. A peer-reviewed study published last year that found roughly 22.3 million Americans — more than 9% of adults — live in recovery after some form of substance-use disorder. A separate study published by the CDC and the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 2020 found 3 out of 4 people who experience addiction eventually recover (75%). About this case is the fact he had and paid for a personal assistent who's job it is to keep him at least alive even when Perry asked him that day 3 times to give him a lot he should have known better or quit his job. And it wasn't only that day but Kenneth Iwamasa gave it to Perry for a month already and enriched himself. |

I think it's great they're going after these parasites. Crack down on dealers and start throwing these scum in prison where they belong. Perry was a drug addict and he was surrounded by leeches who took advantage of that and that is fucking sad.

we were going to discuss ketamine once, but like Matthew Perry in a hot tub, it didn't come up.
