Re: Driver Swerves to Miss Dog, Kills Man Mowing His Grass
Yep. Humans first! He should have ran fido the fuck over and kept going! People should keep their critters at home or on a chain. The owner of the mut should be sued for everything he or she owns. Unless of course by coincidence the dog belonged to the guy on the lawn mower, which would be a great example of karma! I was riding my Harley in a pack of bikes with my club one day when a mut came running off of a porch of a house and ran into the middle of the bikes. We were doing about 65 riding side by side (two bikes per lane). About 30 bikes in the pack. The dog tried to literally attack the rear tire of a bike on the left side 3 bikes ahead of me, I was on the right. When the mut tried to attack the rear of the bike, his head hit the rear tire, he spun around, came between the two rows of bikes and I got him with my front wheel. He was quiet a large dog. Slightly smaller than Lassie (but a whole lot fucking dumber). So if you've ever seen a dog chasing a motorcycle and wondered "what would it do if it caught the motorcycle"? Well, that's what happens. Fortunately none of us went down or were killed. The mut was though. Although I had to have my front forks worked on where the impact bent them. I don't believe in being cruel to animals, but if it's their life or a humans, there is simply no comparison. You can bet I lost absolutely no sleep over the issue and was glad I won the day. I know a guy who used to be an animal rights nut until his wife hit a bear and was killed in the crash. Ask him what he thinks about the subject now. |
