It's an on-going battle; Some states you can, some you can't. Proposition 19(?) was just turned down in California a couple months back; I really expected it to pass there of all places. Now, plenty of states where you can obtain med. marijuana cards/distributor license haven't voted officially, but allow it. Who knows how many would actually vote it in for the books. It is currently 'decriminalized' in Wash, DC, and it is Alabama's No. 1 cash crop, despite being illegal there! By federal law, marijuana is illegal in the U.S., but the more enlightened states are decriminalizing it. It's usually not worth the feds time to sweat individual states over their marijuana laws, and it's just a matter of time and transition before people see the light and it all gets sorted out. Hell, it's only a plant, and there are hundreds of other things natural to the earth that'll get you high, it's only when it becomes a commodity that the govt. gets uptight about it. The fact of the matter is, it's too easy to grow for the govt. to tax it they way they do tobacco. Marijuana prohibition is about dollars, period.

It's the pharmaceutical companies that fight to keep it illegal, even for medical reasons !! The courts say, you don't need weed, there's a pill for that !! Sorry if it costs $10thousand a month and makes men grow tits, you'll just have to use what is available !! BOLLOX !!

Medical Marijuana my ass. In 20 years you're going to see commercials on tv that says " If you were diagnosed with lung cancer you may part of a nationwide class action lawsuit". It should just be legalized. |
