Loaded guns need to have the trigger-group protected every time/all the time unless they are being employed or deactivated. They have these things called "pocket holsters" which achieve this. I make my own because most of which on the market are shitty. But even a shitty pocket-holster would have prevented this from happening. How? Pocket holsters are suede-side-out so they can "grab" onto the pocket material with tanned-side-in aiding extraction of the pistol. This also prevents the pistol from falling out of said pocket, as leather conforms to the pistol over time. Given the fact that I'm over... the hill, I have fallen asleep with a .380 pistol in a pocket-pistol holster of my own design. Other than an occasional holster-corner-jab-in-the-nuts, it's never fallen free or fallen out. |
