I actually think this is really extreme. He was only sixteen years old, he might have looked up to the people who had a bad influence on him? Myself I remember being EASILY influenced by friends at sixteen, I never realised it until later, you know, when you grow up and realise how immature you've been in the past.

If you get life in prison, it should translate to Death Sentence.
